How I work with neurodivergence:

You may have a recent diagnosis or navigate neurodiversity for longer. You may suspect that you are neurodivergent, or are self-identifying. Even with the knowledge of a diagnosis, it can be challenging to navigate the many ways that neurodiversity may show up in your life.

I am neurodivergent myself, and I have a particular interest in ADHD and autism. I know from lived experience how important it is to work with a therapist who understands how to adapt therapy and counselling to neurodivergent needs. I try to do this in collaboration with you, based on what you find helpful. This can involve making space for accommodations, the need for structure and practical approaches, and tackling potential emotional challenges. We can focus on specific themes, such as the below, but are not limited to them:

– neurodivergent burnout
– masking and authenticity
– executive functioning
– emotion regulation
– sensory needs and sensory overload
– rejection sensitivity
– hormonal impact (PMDD, PMS, perimenopause)
– relationships and couples (ND/ND and ND/NT)
– processing your diagnosis, grief, or support while you wait for an assessment
– accommodations and figuring out your needs
– neurodiversity, identity & culture
– comorbidities, such as depression and anxiety
– trauma
– the nervous system and body-mind connection
– processing delay
– alexithymia
– neurodivergent strengths
– education about neurodiversity

I like to equip you with agency over your own development and share context as to how therapy works. Being neurodivergent often means that we have a strong sense of justice, and I believe that the world we live in impacts our mental health. As such, my practice considers the effects of climate change and the social and political challenges of our times.

My Background:

I am a therapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I can work with you online from anywhere in the world (outside the US) and in person in London, UK. I offer therapy in both English and German.

I have lived and worked across Europe, the UK, the US, the Middle East, and Asia and am mixed-race. Before being a therapist, I worked in tech and had stints at the UN and in public broadcasting. Apart from training in psychotherapeutic counselling and psychotherapy, I have completed extensive other relevant training, such as in mindfulness, and contemplative psychology, as a coach, and as a yoga teacher. My non-linear background is reflected in my broad, therapeutic approaches that I adapt to what you need.
