Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience of direct client work and facilitating group therapy.

Main duties of the Therapist:
  • Contribute to assessments of clients within agreed timescales.
  • Deliver therapeutic support through group-work sessions and one-to-one interventions.
  • Contribute to regular reviews of the client with probation and health workers.
  • Counsel individuals about their substance use.
  • Help individuals address their substance use and offending behaviour.
  • Maintain records of client attendance and participation in the group programme.
  • Explore, implement, and supervise a range of approaches, activities, and exercises designed to promote health and support individuals through detoxification/stabilisation.
  • Ensure all administration, case recording, written reports, etc., are maintained accurately.
  • Participate in activities and tasks that directly respond to client needs, where required.
  • Safeguard clients at all times and follow all safeguarding procedures.
  • Level 4 or higher qualification in Counselling or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience of direct client work and facilitating group therapy.
  • Experience developing and delivering therapeutic support programmes.
  • Experience providing direct client services, particularly assessment & group-work.
  • Flexible, open approach with proven communication skills in managing sessional staff, volunteers, and clients.
  • Experience working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Proven planning and administration skills.
  • Willingness to develop treatment programmes to suit client needs.
  • Understanding of quality standards, performance monitoring, and statistical data collection for purchasers.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients.
The Recruitment Process:
  • Initial phone conversation with a talent acquisition specialist for an informal chat and questions about the role.
  • If successful, undertake an interview on-site or via video conference. A second-stage interview may be required later at the centre.
