Main duties of the Therapist:
- Contribute to assessments of clients within agreed timescales.
- Deliver therapeutic support through group-work sessions and one-to-one interventions.
- Contribute to regular reviews of the client with probation and health workers.
- Counsel individuals about their substance use.
- Help individuals address their substance use and offending behaviour.
- Maintain records of client attendance and participation in the group programme.
- Explore, implement, and supervise a range of approaches, activities, and exercises designed to promote health and support individuals through detoxification/stabilisation.
- Ensure all administration, case recording, written reports, etc., are maintained accurately.
- Participate in activities and tasks that directly respond to client needs, where required.
- Safeguard clients at all times and follow all safeguarding procedures.
- Level 4 or higher qualification in Counselling or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year experience of direct client work and facilitating group therapy.
- Experience developing and delivering therapeutic support programmes.
- Experience providing direct client services, particularly assessment & group-work.
- Flexible, open approach with proven communication skills in managing sessional staff, volunteers, and clients.
- Experience working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Proven planning and administration skills.
- Willingness to develop treatment programmes to suit client needs.
- Understanding of quality standards, performance monitoring, and statistical data collection for purchasers.
- Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients.
The Recruitment Process:
- Initial phone conversation with a talent acquisition specialist for an informal chat and questions about the role.
- If successful, undertake an interview on-site or via video conference. A second-stage interview may be required later at the centre.
- Candidates will be notified of success within 5 working days post-interview.
