Therapist

Part time - (Pro rata £30,000 - £35,000)

Are you a qualified Therapist looking to change the lives of young vulnerable people?

We are looking for a Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team!

As a Therapist at Swaay, you will work between our office, school, and homes, all within the Bracknell and Farnborough areas, developing therapeutic programmes in both group and individual settings.

The successful candidate will have a qualification in a discipline relevant to working with children, such as CBT, Psychotherapy, DDP, and have experience working with children and young people with complex needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Develop individual therapy programmes for young people on case load based on assessments and case notes under the supervision of experienced psychologists and practitioners.
  • Conduct individual therapy with young people residing at SWAAY.
  • Form part of the core group for each young person on case load.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of group work programmes, using evidence-based practice.
  • Assist with day-to-day administration tasks.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings relating to the young people and work closely with other staff members to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to maintain a focused therapeutic placement.
  • Present and provide training/presentations at other agencies and at national and international conferences.
Benefits:
  • A full induction to the organisation will be provided.
  • Manage only a small caseload of approximately 5-6 young people that will allow you to provide tailored support.
  • Opportunities to attend both internal and external CPD events.
  • Supervisions with an experienced member of the therapy team.
  • Opportunities to contribute/support in exciting research projects.
  • Gain invaluable experience within a multidisciplinary team (Forensic Psychology, Play Therapy, Therapeutic Counselling, CBT, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy).
  • Professional development in a company widely recognised for the excellent therapeutic services we offer.
  • Flexible hours that allow you autonomy in your work.
About us:

For over 30 years, SWAAY has been providing specialised, high-quality residential care, education, and therapeutic services for young males aged 11-18 with developmental trauma, attachment difficulties, and who have displayed sexually harmful behaviour. We are now widely recognised for the excellent therapeutic service programs that we offer and have contributed to research and literature in the field.

We work to reduce the risk these young people pose, meet their complex needs, and help them manage their physical and behavioural difficulties, so that they can build healthy relationships and go on to lead fulfilling, rewarding, and offence-free lives.

This is a part-time position with weekday working pattern.
