Job summary

Medical Update Online is seeking a compassionate Residential Support Worker to provide day-to-day care and therapeutic support for children in small homes. You will help young people build confidence, resilience, and life skills in a safe, nurturing environment, guided by a team of experienced professionals.

Applicants should have experience with complex needs, strong safeguarding values, and a willingness to work varied shifts including sleep-ins.

Qualifications

Experience supporting children with complex needs in residential care or similar settings.
Ability to build positive relationships and calmly manage challenging behaviours.
Strong safeguarding ethos and commitment to welfare.
Excellent communication skills and teamwork in a care setting.
Motivation to learn, develop, and progress within residential childcare.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Full driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

Support children and young people with day-to-day care, wellbeing and development.
Build positive relationships and provide consistent emotional support.
Promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes.
Create a safe and therapeutic home environment.
Safeguard young people and support their individual care plans.
Work as part of a dedicated team and maintain accurate records.
