Greenleaf is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our team in Thornhill, Dumfries and Galloway. You will work a 14‑hour shift pattern with a 10‑hour sleepover, caring for children and young people up to 21 in a therapeutic, trauma‑informed setting.

The ideal candidate will have residential care experience, be compassionate, and strongly committed to safeguarding. We offer a higher than sector‑average salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualificações

• Experience in a residential children’s home.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding safeguarding and child protection.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends, sleepovers, and long hours.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Understanding behaviours of children and young people and intervention strategies.
• Awareness of relevant legislation.
• Willingness to complete training in crisis and physical intervention.
• Desire to work with Children and Young People and gain qualifications.

Responsabilidades

• Provide care and support to our children and young people following policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the assessment process for young people and delivery of support programmes.
• Attend planning and review meetings and participate in a keyperson system.
• Ensure quality recording of information in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Work within a shift system including sleepovers.
• Undertake health and safety and other safety checks as necessary.
• Participate in ongoing training and own personal development.
• Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies as necessary.
• Promote young people’s participation, structure, boundaries and routine.
• Comply with the code of conduct and safeguarding/reporting processes.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
