Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Radiographer to join the Radiotherapy Macclesfield team. You will deliver radiotherapy treatments, rotate across delivery and pre-treatment areas, and ensure safety and high-quality care for cancer patients.

You will be HCPC registered, with radiation therapy training, and participate in training and supervision of learners. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with opportunities to work on state-of-the-art techniques.

Qualifications

• Graduate level qualification in radiotherapy.
• Registration with HCPC as a therapeutic radiographer.
• Evidence of attending post-registration training events.
• Experience of clinical placements to demonstrate technical and patient care experience.
• Experience of working within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, accurate, and high-quality radiotherapy treatment in line with prescribed plans and departmental protocols.
• Work across treatment delivery and pre-treatment areas as part of a rotational service.
• Operate and perform safety checks on radiotherapy and imaging equipment and report faults.
• Carry out dose calculations, interpret prescriptions, and apply verification procedures.
• Position patients, maintain records, and comply with IRMER/IRR requirements.
• Contribute to achieving service workload targets while upholding patient care standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centred support to individuals with cancer and families.
• Monitor patients, identify side effects, and refer to other healthcare professionals as needed.
