Applications are invited from newly qualified therapy radiographers to join the Sussex Cancer Centre Radiotherapy team, based at Brighton. Radiotherapy services are provided across two hospital sites—Brighton and Eastbourne—with advanced facilities including CT Philips Widebore scanners, Elekta Versa HD machines, and Tomotherapy units. The centre also offers high dose rate brachytherapy for various malignancies. International applications are welcome, subject to a score of 7 in IELTS.
The post holder will deliver professional radiotherapy services across Sussex Cancer Centre locations, covering planning, simulation, calculation, and treatment of cancer patients, while liaising effectively with multidisciplinary teams. With experience, the post holder will take responsibility for the daily operation of Linear Accelerators, following set competency training.
The role requires advanced clinical knowledge of radiotherapy procedures, tissue tolerances, and physiological reactions to radiation. The post holder must practice in accordance with legislation governing ionising radiation use (IR(ME)R) and demonstrate high competence in operating complex technical and computerised systems, including:
