Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking an experienced Therapeutic Radiographer to join a senior team covering mould room, CT, and treatment delivery including IGRT techniques. You will support the team leader in daily management and coordinate the clinical workload to maintain an efficient service.

The role requires post‑registration experience, HCPC registration, and demonstrated experience with SABR/SRS, DIBH, and Adaptive RT, with a commitment to mentoring students and staff

Qualifications

  • Post registration experience as Therapeutic Radiographer with rotations through pre-treatment and treatment.
  • Experience with IGRT modalities including SABR, SRS, DIBH, Adaptive RT.
  • Mentoring or training students or junior staff.
  • Previous NHS experience and senior-level responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead as a senior Radiographer across all sections of the department including mould room, CT, and treatment delivery.
  • Support the team leader in day-to-day management of pre-treatment or treatment work areas and clinical workload.
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient service delivery and target achievement.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor junior staff and students within the unit.

Job description

With access to CPD funding for courses and conferences, you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills and advance your career., Work as a senior member of the team of Radiographers covering all sections of the department including mould room, CT scanning, virtual simulation and contouring, delivery of a wide range of both simple & complex treatment and IGRT techniques. Support the team leader in the day-to-day management of their assigned pre-treatment or treatment work area, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload. Liaising with the multidisciplinary team. Assist with the day-to-day organisation of a treatment unit to ensure an efficient service is delivered and workload targets are achieved.   • BSc (Hon) in Radiotherapy.
  • HCPC registered as Therapeutic Radiographer
  • Core knowledge of a range of radiotherapy equipment and techniques
  • A general understanding of computerised treatment planning systems.
  • Post registration experience of working as a Therapeutic Radiographer with rotations through pre-treatment and treatment during that period
  • Current relevant experience
  • Experience and knowledge of all IGRT modalities, Evidence of post graduate study
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous senior experience
  • Experience of advanced techniques e.g., SABR, SRS, DIBH, TBI, Adaptive RT
  • Evaluation of CBCT images
  • Experience of mentoring/training student radiographers
