JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and Summary of Job: To work as a Therapeutic Practitioner as part of a rota within a Cambian Healthcare unit, working in accordance with the job description for a Support Worker. The role involves assisting Qualified and Assistant Psychologists in delivering psychological interventions under supervision, and implementing strategies as part of the care team.

The post involves working with children and adolescents with mental health issues, admitted either informally or under section, for assessment and treatment.

General Responsibilities:
  • Participate in personal appraisal and professional development activities.
  • Draw on a knowledge base consistent with a good honours degree in psychology and graduate membership of the BPS.
  • Observe professional codes of practice, hospital policies, and employment terms.
  • Prepare behavioural plans, leaflets, and visual aids to support psychological interventions.
  • Undertake administrative duties as required.
  • Perform duties similar to those outlined, within your capabilities and competency.
  • Promote and maintain the good reputation of the Hospital/Unit.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Practice non-discriminatory principles in all work aspects.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, and legal guidelines including the Mental Health Act.
