A leading pharmaceutical company seeks a Therapeutic Area Specialist to join their Oncology unit in East England and East Midlands. The role involves building relationships with scientific end-users, promoting the Oncology portfolio, and requires a degree in a scientific subject or relevant NHS experience. Ideal candidates will have sales experience in secondary care and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Education to degree level in a scientific subject or relevant experience within the NHS required.
  • Experience in a sales role within secondary care/high-cost medicine, ideally within Oncology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NHS & ABPI preferred.
  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams preferred.
  • Valid UK driving licence required.

Job description
Your Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapeutic Area Specialist to join our Oncology business unit covering the territory of the East of England and East Midlands. Some of your primary goals will be to build strong relationships with scientific end-users, gain a good understanding of their needs and goals, identify decision-makers and expand the prospect network with new business opportunities.

You will initiate customer contacts and establish a broad customer network to promote our Oncology portfolio, in cooperation with product specialists and internal support teams. We are looking for a Therapeutic Area Specialist with strong internal and external relationship skills, a strong interest in scientific selling, excellent team spirit and the capacity to work with teams to address customers' needs. This is primarily a field-based, customer-facing role and it is expected that your time in the field will be approximately 80% of your weekly hours.

Who you are
  • Education to degree level in a scientific subject or relevant experience of working within the NHS are required (Nursing, Pharmacy, etc).
  • Experience in a sales role within secondary care/high-cost medicine, ideally within Oncology is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NHS & ABPI is preferred.
  • Experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams is preferred, able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • You have a valid UK driving licence.
