Job summary

Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) invites applications for the role of Lead Theatre Technician. You will be responsible for the provision and maintenance of equipment in our performance spaces and will support students during rehearsals and productions.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or proven experience in a similar technical role, with knowledge of lighting control, video systems, and counterweight flying.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or proven experience in a similar technical role.
• Working knowledge of technical theatre processes and equipment.
• Experience with intelligent lighting control, video systems and counterweight flying.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to students during rehearsals and productions.
• Maintain a safe and secure workplace, equipment and materials.
• Supervise students in the technical and production areas.
• Support students in achieving their learning goals.
• Act as Duty Technician during public performances.
• Deputise for the Lead Theatre Technician as required.
