Job summary

Sadler’s Wells East is seeking a Lighting Technician to join its team. You’ll contribute to varied dance and theatre productions, applying strong lighting skills in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities include leading a lighting team during fit-ups, get-outs and shows, and maintaining safe use of lighting and show control systems. Experience with touring and a proactive, team-first attitude are valued.

Qualifications

  • Experience of lighting for theatre and dance productions.
  • Proficiency with ETC EOS family software and equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in a theatre environment.
  • Experience with touring companies or venues is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the lighting team during fit-ups, get-outs and show duties.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to implement lighting designs.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of lighting equipment and show control systems.

Sadler's Wells East is our newest venue, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Lighting Technician to be part of its team.

We are a receiving theatre with varied seasons, including both artistic and commercial activities. You would be required to have a flexible approach to working patterns, and ideally will have experience of working with either repertory or touring companies.

Are you a seasoned theatre professional with a passion for pushing boundaries and excellence? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every performance is a live spectacle? If so, then this is the role for you!

You will have the following essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with a variety of shows in an on-stage capacity
  • Experience of working with touring companies and / or venues
  • Good knowledge of health and safety issues and safe working practices
  • Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in lighting for dance or theatre
  • Experience of ETC EOS family software and equipment
  • Knowledge of basic network infrastructure & terminology with a focus on lighting and show control
  • Flexible attitude and able to work as part of a team
  • Experience leading a lighting team on fit-up, get-out and show duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively and politely with co-workers
  • Must hold the right to work in the UK

Desirable, but not essential skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with large-scale dance, ballet, or opera.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks or similar design software.
  • Experience of GrandMA3 family lighting software.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience to an advanced level in lighting, show control and network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in sound, video or stage practice
