A cultural organization in England is seeking a Theatre Technician to provide technical support for live performances ranging from comedy to music. Key responsibilities include maintaining lighting and sound equipment, ensuring high-quality delivery, and adapting performances to artists' requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a proactive approach to enhance the venue's reputation.
As a Theatre Technician at the Forest Arts Centre, you will provide technical support for live performances across everything from comedy, music, theatre and talks, maintaining consistent, high-quality delivery. You will provide specialist technical support and advice for events & activities, indoors & outdoors, including hires and room bookings. You will maintain the venue's technical and electrical equipment, including but not limited to lighting & sound equipment, and manage service contracts where required. You will liaise with visiting artists, companies and bands, ensuring their requirements are adapted to the available facilities and ensuring lighting, sound, AV, staging and electrical needs are met.
You will hold demonstrable experience in delivering consistent, high-quality technical support for a variety of live performances. You are experienced as a light & sound/theatre venue technician and can demonstrate strong technical skills across a range of relevant equipment. You will have a proactive & positive nature, using your initiative to take action and achieve the best technical results for the venue’s performers and uphold the professional reputation of the venue. Flexibility is essential, with evening and weekend work being an integral part of the role.
