Overview

Are you passionate about the magic that happens behind the curtains? Do you thrive in a dynamic and creative environment? We are seeking a talented and dedicated Theatre Technician to join our vibrant team and bring productions to life. Working within the Arts, Performance and Media section of the College, you will support teaching staff with the delivery of high quality performances, ensuring the technical element enhances the performance. You will also provide technical support for external events in our theatre which may include some evening and weekend working.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching staff with the delivery of high quality performances, ensuring the technical element enhances the performance.
  • Provide technical support for external events in the theatre, which may include some evening and weekend work.
  • Adapt to a varied role with no two days the same; think on your feet and apply knowledge of the theatre production process.
  • Work with industry standard equipment; familiarity with the equipment is needed, with training provided if required.
  • Be able to work independently and be flexible with hours to cover key events across the Arts, Performance and Media department, wider college events, and external hires.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Confident working independently and flexible with hours to cover events.
  • Familiarity with theatre production equipment (training available).
  • Enhanced DBS certificate to be employed at the College.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours for external events (evening/weekend as needed).
Contract & Benefits

This is a full time, term time only post with additional days to cover external bookings in the holidays. A full time, all year round post could be considered for the right candidate. Benefits include local government pension scheme and excellent holiday allowance.
