Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust seeks a Theatres Sterile Services/Stores Operative at Wycombe Hospital to ensure timely provision of sterile instruments and consumables to theatres before surgery. You will join a dedicated team and receive on-the-job training to develop the necessary skills for the role.

Your main duties include ensuring instruments and consumables are available for the day before surgery, escalating shortages to a senior colleague promptly, and supporting theatre staff to

• To ensure the prompt return to CSSD of all instruments, liaison with CSSD to ensure priority is given to urgent requirements.

Job description

Wycombe Hospital Operating Theatres are looking for a Theatres Sterile Services/Stores Operative to join our friendly team. As the elective surgery site for the Trust, we support operations across a range of specialities, including ENT, General surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Plastic surgery, Robotic surgery and Urology.

You will be supporting the care of patients undergoing operations by ensuring the provision of all sterile instruments and consumables to theatres within the agreed time. You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who you will learn from on the job and we will provide training to ensure you have the skills for the role.

Your main job role will be ensuring all instruments and consumables are available to theatres the day before surgery, and to escape any inability to do so in a timely manner.
