A regional healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a Theatre Scrub Nurse/ODP to support various surgical procedures across its hospital sites. This role is ideal for experienced nurses or newly qualified RNs/ODPs, with a dedicated preceptorship program available. Responsibilities include providing intra-operative care, assessing patient needs, and supporting multidisciplinary teams. Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurse/ODP
NCIC has 2 hospital sites in Carlisle & Whitehaven serving a population of around 320,000 people. While based at one hospital the successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain experience in working across both sites. We provide theatre support to womens health, maternity, breast, urology, vascular, colorectal and general surgery, trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery, and ENT and head & neck, for both adults and paediatrics, in both main theatre & day surgery settings. We support Critical Care inter-hospital transfers and specialist services within the Trust such as Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, imaging and the emergency department.
This post is suitable for experienced Registered Nurses/Operating Department Practitioners, and also offers an exciting start to the career of any newly qualified RN/ODP. A preceptorship period is offered to all successful applicants, with the Trust operating a dedicated one year preceptorship programme offering ten study days during this period to enhance knowledge and skills.
The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals. Staff returning to practice or moving into new roles or changing clinical environments may access an agreed preceptorship period.
