Main duties of the jobUniversity Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us in our Theatre Recovery department. We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic and skilled team.
This role requires you to be able to provide outstanding care to paediatric patients and their families in the post-operative phase - this includes A-E assessment, performing emergency airway interventions and managing acute deterioration of a variety of causes. Here at UHS we provide post-operative care to a wide range of paediatric specialities and you will gain experience caring for the following: Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Gastroenterology and General Surgery. Training and support will be provided by the hiring manager and the Theatre Education Team to the successful candidate and further training opportunities are provided in-house.
The Recovery department also provides care for Adult and Neurosurgical specialities and the candidate will have the opportunity to undertake their competencies in multiple specialities. However, this position will primarily be based in Paediatrics so those applying must be confident in the care of children and young people.
