Job summary

Liverpool Women's Hospital is seeking a theatre practitioner with scrub skills to join the obstetric and gynaecology theatres. You will be a safe and competent clinical member of the team, ensuring cleanliness of Operating Theatre areas and equipment, and preparing theatres before and after operative procedures.

You will participate in out-of-hours on-call rota and contribute to the smooth running of the Operating Department, with a focus on self-development and team collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Registered staff - RGN or ODP with UK registration
  • Able to work as part of a cohesive theatre team
  • Experience in obstetric and gynecology theatre preferred

Job description

Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust operates an On-Call service to ensure continuous, safe care for patients at Liverpool Women's Hospital. Staff members who are required to participate in the On-Call rota must be able to attend the hospital within 30 minutes of being called and therefore must live within a travel distance that allows them to reach the hospital within a 30-minute journey time.

Where this is not possible, individuals may make alternative arrangements to ensure compliance with the 30-minute requirement, for example temporarily staying with a friend, family member, or in other suitable accommodation located within close proximity to the hospital, any such arrangements would be at the individual's own expense.

To perform as a safe and competent clinical member of the team in theatre scrub and provide specialised holistic care for the peri-operative patient.

Contribute to an effective, motivated and competent workforce and ensure that high quality standards are maintained and developed.

Ensure the cleanliness of all the Operating Theatre areas and equipment at all times.

Prepare the Operating Theatre prior to and following operative procedures.

Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota as required.

Perform other duties as reasonably required to assist in the smooth running of the Operating Department.

Be responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies.

Maintain a broad understanding of the work of the Clinical Support Services and the Trust as a whole and actively contribute your ideas for the improvement of service provision.

Must have experience in Obstetric and Gynaecology theatre.

We are looking fora forward thinking and highly motivated person, who is able to demonstrate good time management skills, you will also need to possess good communication skill (verbal, written & electronic) and have the ability to work as part of a cohesive team., This post is suitable for registered staff - RGN and ODP, newly qualified and experienced and you must have appropriate UK professional registration.
