Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Preston is seeking a scrub practitioner to join the Main Theatre teams in Neuro and Emergency Theatres. Working long shifts, weekends and nights are required with no fixed days. The role offers development within a supportive teaching hospital.

You'll contribute to high quality peri-operative care, work across Vascular, Urology, Plastics and ENT & Max Fax specialties, and benefit from induction, mentoring, and ongoing clinical education.

Qualifications

• NMC/HCPC Registration and active practice.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and updating skills.
• RN1, RN2 General Nursing Posts/ODP registrations.
• A recognised degree in nursing or related field.
• Mentorship qualification or Practice Assessor status.
• Diploma in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Working long shifts across 7 days, including nights and weekends.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Main Theatre department at Royal Preston Hospital for Neurosurgery Theatres or Emergency Theatres. You will need to be able to be flexible with your hours as these theatres require working over 7 days a week and on nights. No fixed days can be accommodated.

As an integral member of the operating theatre team for Neuro and Emergency Theatres, you would be directly involved in the following specialities:

Vascular

Urology

Plastics

ENT & Max Fax

Please note that this post will include working long shifts (8-9, 7:45- 20:30, 8-7), working weekends and covering nights for emergency theatres.
