Job Summary

At Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH), we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our busy operating theatres. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Theatres at Arrowe Park Hospital.

You will play a key role in providing safe, effective, and holistic care for women undergoing obstetric and gynaecological procedures, including elective and emergency caesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic surgeries. Our O&G theatres are fast-paced and rewarding, offering the opportunity to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to excellence in perioperative care.

Main Duties

  1. Act as a scrub practitioner for obstetric and gynaecological surgical procedures.
  2. Ensure instruments, equipment, and consumables are prepared and available according to surgical needs.
  3. Support patients through their surgical journey with dignity and respect.
  4. Participate in service development, audits, and training.
  5. Maintain a safe environment in line with Trust policies and clinical governance standards.
  6. Collaborate with anaesthetic and recovery staff to deliver seamless care.
