Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Lancaster Hospital is recruiting a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre Department on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The role involves a flexible shift pattern to support seven-day operating schedules as services expand.

You will assist surgical teams, ensure sterility, and coordinate across scrub, anaesthetics and recovery areas while maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Experience or training in theatre environment (scrub, anaesthetics or recovery).
• Knowledge of infection control, manual handling and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and supporting anaesthetist.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs; check equipment prior to use.
• Maintain infection control procedures and support safe, efficient surgical lists.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive theatre environment.
