A Band 5 full-time post for an Anaesthetic / Scrub nurse has become available at Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
We have 11 theatres at the Royal Blackburn site and 17 at Burnley General. Together, we carry out a wide range of elective and emergency surgeries across many specialties, including Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Vascular, Colorectal, HPB, Urology, Orthopaedics, Trauma, ENT, Maxillofacial, and complex head and neck reconstructive surgery, including robotic-assisted surgery.
We are a university teaching trust. Experience is not essential, as training will be provided. We have a comprehensive training package and support workforce development through dedicated Practice Educators.
We encourage innovation. ELHT has the largest and most comprehensive robot-assisted surgery program in the northwest, with leading surgeons performing head and neck, urological, and colorectal cancers at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. A second robot at Burnley General allows for robotic surgeries in gynaecological and urological cancers, expanding capacity for future Hepato-biliary surgeries.
Our goal is to provide safe, personal, and effective care, prioritizing safety and quality. The 2019 staff survey shows ELHT scores above the national average in key areas like wellbeing, quality of care, morale, safety culture, staff engagement, and teamwork.
We seek a dedicated, motivated individual to work in our theatres. Flexibility, excellent time management, and communication skills are essential. The role involves providing expert patient care, maintaining safety, accurate documentation, and acting as scrub/circulating nurse or anaesthetic/recovery nurse based on qualification and experience. Participation in weekend and night rotations is required.
