Job summary

University Hospital Bristol and Weston are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a flexible approach to be part of adult Theatres.

We are currently seeking new team members to join our expanding multidisciplinary team as a Band 5, working up to 37.5 hours per week, with skills in Anaesthetic, Recovery, or Scrub roles.

We operate across multiple sites within UHBW, including:

1. St. Michael's Hospital: 5 theatres, 8-bed recovery, specialties such as Obstetrics, ENT, Upper G.I, Oral Surgery, Gynaecology; robotic surgery upcoming.
2. Hey Groves Theatres (HGT): Bristol Royal Infirmary site with 10 theatres, 9-bed recovery, specialties including cardiac, thoracic, GI, Max-Fax, trauma, emergency theatres, and robotic surgery across 6 specialties.

The role involves working up to 37.5 hours, including shifts, nights, and weekends. Candidates with skills or knowledge in theatres (scrub, recovery, anaesthetics) are preferred, but training will be provided. Eagerness to learn, flexibility, and teamwork are essential.

Newly Qualified Practitioners are encouraged to apply.

Main duties include:

1. Developing patient care plans in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
2. Taking charge of patient care, prioritizing workload based on clinical needs.
3. Occasionally leading ward/department management.
4. Delegating tasks to team members.
5. Maintaining accurate and timely nursing documentation.
6. Adhering to Trust policies, promoting safety, and ensuring a clean, infection-free environment.
7. Administering medicines as per policy.
8. Responding promptly to patient issues and utilizing complaints procedures when necessary.
