About the role:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join a highly reputable, state-of-the-art private eye clinic in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to join their thriving theatre team permanently. The clinic is high performing and expanding, and within this role, you will be exposed to a wide range of specialties. The service practices some of the most advanced treatments, offering a range of surgical procedures in ophthalmology. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills in assisting patients undergoing procedures including cataract surgery in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work in a fast-paced and high-volume clinical setting
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Guide patients through their journey and reassure them throughout
  • Care for patients post-surgery, recovering from sedation
  • Review patient charts and confirm data accuracy
  • Ensure medical equipment is prepared for surgery
  • Follow surgeons’ directions and pass medical equipment
  • Medicine management and audits

Who we’re looking for

  • Be NMC / HCPC registered with no restrictions or conditions on your pin
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
  • At least 1 year of experience working in UK theatres
  • Ophthalmic / optometry / ophthalmology experience is highly desirable
  • Interest in development and progression; this role offers the opportunity to complete the surgical assist course
