Job summary

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Educator to work across Theatre and PACU, collaborating with nursing staff, ODPs and external partners to develop theatre nursing practice and clinical skills.

The post involves planning training, delivering sessions using mixed media and simulation, evaluating learning impact, and contributing to service improvement within the Trust's commitment to patient safety and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration or an ODP with HCPC registration.
• Recognised teaching certificate or equivalent experience.
• Educated to degree level with CPD relevant to current role.
• Willing to undergo training as necessary to undertake role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver core and additional clinical skills training across Theatre and PACU.
• Deliver effective teaching and assess knowledge and competence.
• Collect, evaluate data and produce reports to drive service improvement.
• Support investigations following adverse incidents and mentor staff.
• Work across professional boundaries to develop multi-professional teaching.
• Design and maintain physical and virtual training provision.
• Create learning packages and resources for clinical skills.
