Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the General and Emergency Team in the Main Theatres Department at Frimley Park Hospital.

You will lead and develop perioperative teams, coordinate a 24/7 roster, and deputise in the absence of senior staff while supporting service development and high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: NMC/HCPC registered.
• Essential criteria: Diploma (HE) Operating Department Practice (or NVQ equivalent).
• Desirable criteria: Leadership Course.
• Desirable criteria: Nursing/ Perioperative degree or working towards a degree.
• Desirable criteria: Formal mentorship / assessment qualification e.g. completion of the Trust associate mentorship programme.
• Desirable criteria: Academically accredited post registration qualification in Theatre/Perioperative Practice or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operationally support the specialist teams across CEPOD, General, Obstetrics, Gynae, Upper G.I, Colorectal, Urology and Robotic Surgery.
• Cover a 24/7 roster including nights, weekends and on calls; deputise in the absence of a band 7.
• Mentor and develop staff and support rosters, sickness reviews, appraisals and mandatory training.
