Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for the Outpatients department at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford. The role is 37.5 hours per week, permanent, with a salary up to £26,500 per year depending on experience and training.

You will assist with personal care, nutrition, observations and basic clinical tasks, working closely with nursing and medical staff to ensure safe patient care in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, documenting intake as appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives; create a caring, safe environment.
• Carry out and record routine observations (BP, pulse, resp rate, temp, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Support basic clinical procedures (wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention, mobility aids).
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds and equipment.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe, efficient patient care.
