Job summary

The Portland Hospital in London is seeking a Theatre Practitioner – Anaesthetics to join our multi-disciplinary theatre team. You will support a broad range of paediatric, maternity and general surgical procedures across five theatres, delivering safe, compassionate perioperative care.

The role requires HCPC or NMC registration, with extensive anaesthetic theatre experience and a recognised anaesthetics qualification.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner or NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Extensive post registration experience within anaesthetic theatres.
• Recognised anaesthetics qualification or anaesthetic course.
• Experience preparing and managing anaesthetic rooms and equipment safely and effectively.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care within a multidisciplinary theatre environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, check and maintain anaesthetic equipment to ensure safe and effective use
• Support anaesthetists during a wide range of paediatric, maternity and general surgical procedures
• Monitor patients throughout anaesthesia, maintaining the highest standards of safety and care
• Deliver compassionate care throughout the perioperative journey, ensuring patient comfort and wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team across multiple specialities to support excellent clinical outcomes
