Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust in Stevenage is seeking a Waiting List Officer – Surgical Admissions to help manage elective care pathways and maximise theatre utilisation.

You will coordinate waiting lists, book theatre sessions, organise pre-operative assessments and keep patient records up to date on Trust systems, working with Consultants, Theatre Teams and Service Managers to ensure timely admissions.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Ability to work within a team but use own initiative when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage waiting lists for elective surgery.
• Book patients into theatre sessions.
• Coordinate admissions and pre-operative assessment appointments.
• Ensure patient information is accurate on Trust systems.
• Monitor patient pathways and support RTT and cancer waiting time standards.
• Respond to patient enquiries and maximise theatre capacity.
• Provide cross-cover across multiple specialties.
