The literary agency is looking for a candidate with a minimum of five years of Rights Sales experience

Job title: Sales Director/ maternity cover. Fixed term contract Monday 3rd November 2025 - Friday 18th December 2026

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of five years of Rights Sales experience to provide maternity cover for the Sales Director at leading translation rights agency The Marsh Agency.

The successful candidate will have experience in:

• Selling translation rights in all key European and South American markets.
• Attending London and Frankfurt book fairs.
• Working closely with clients, customers and book scouts.
• Knowledge of Bradbury Phillips AgencyManager is a must.

Reporting to the Managing Director and alongside the in-house team they will be expected to meet strategic goals, financial targets and administrative deadlines and deliver a highly professional standard of all aspects of rights sales. We are looking for someone with a proactive approach to selling translation rights, who is a quick learner, has a rigorous attitude to administration, is a team player and would be excited to join our busy team for this fixed period.

The Marsh Agency benefits:

• Hybrid working: 3 fixed days in office / 2 days at home per week (or further office days if requested). Laptop will be provided for home working, but a suitable internet connection is essential.
• Holiday: 25 days plus recognised national public holidays and one paid personal wellness day per annum, pro rata.
• Season travel ticket loan and/or cycle to work loan.
• Summer working hours throughout June, July, and August

Closing date: Friday 19th September, but we reserve the right to interview and offer the position earlier should a suitable candidate be found.
