Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking a Production Instructor – Enterprises to supervise prisoners in a specialist workshop, ensuring quality and safety while helping to improve employment prospects on release. You will teach towards national qualifications and may engage with local colleges for external support.

The role requires experience in production, supervisory ability, and familiarity with industrial machinery.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant work experience in a production environment.
• Preferable to have supervisory experience.
• Experience using industrial standard machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise prisoners in a specialist workshop and manage workloads.
• Induct and train prisoners in health and safety, COSHH, and machine use.
• Log attendance, hours worked and wages; monitor quality to specifications.
• Maintain security and monitor workshop areas; conduct tool checks and maintenance.
• Support prisoner development and contribute to reports and assessments.
