Job summary

Camira is a leading textile manufacturer known for heritage and innovation, operating Stoll knitting machines to deliver high-quality fabrics for various sectors. The role requires strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards while supporting continuous improvements.

The successful candidate will work permanent night shifts (22:00–06:00) or rotating days, performing machine maintenance, production checks, and handovers to ensure seamless manufacturing processes and timely

Qualifications

  • Experience in operating production equipment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Data input accuracy in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection and corporate requirements.
  • Produce products to agreed specifications by following defined processes.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure knitted products meet quality standards and are delivered to customers.
  • Maintain Stoll machines in line with standard operating practices to ensure smooth operation and efficiency.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers by attending daily meetings and participate in machine changeovers as needed.

Job description

Camira are a multi-award-winning textile manufacturer with two centuries of heritage and a forward-thinking approach to innovation and sustainability, Camira designs and manufactures environmental fabrics for the commercial, public transport and residential sectors.

Purpose of the role

To operate Stoll machines according to production plans and specifications to deliver high quality products and meet customer demands. Full Training Provided.

The day to day

To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements

Produce products to the agreed specification by following processes

Quality checking to ensure a quality product is knitted and delivered to the customer

Maintain Stoll machines to in accordance with standard working practices to ensure smooth running operation and efficiency of the machine

Ensure a smooth shift handover by attending daily meetings

Change over machines to ensure smooth running of the manufacturing process

Other Considerations

Data Input required

Previous experience, or an understanding of, continuous improvement initiatives

Experience within a production environment and/or machine operator role would be beneficial

Shift Pattern

Two positions operate on a permanent night shift pattern (10:00pm to 6:00am).

Two position operates on a rotating double-day shift pattern:

  • Week 1: 6:00am to 2:00pm
  • Week 2: 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
