Job description

We are currently seeking a qualified Electrician for electrical testing, PPM, and remedial works in and around Cambridgeshire.

Our client is a leader in lighting maintenance, LED installation, and electrical compliance testing. They service over 10,000 sites for more than 80 clients across various sectors, including major UK retail groups. Their team of directly employed engineers covers mainland UK and Northern Ireland, proactively visiting sites to resolve lighting needs and ensure compliance.

The Electrician role is mobile (transport provided), covering a specific geographic area within Cambridgeshire. Hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility for overtime and weekends, and some work away from home.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Compliance visits and remedial works in retail, industrial, and commercial settings to NICEIC standards
  • Emergency light testing, fire alarm testing, PAT testing, fire extinguisher servicing
  • Lighting maintenance and project work
  • PPM maintenance
  • Reporting to the Head Office and liaising with clients on-site
  • Managing your geographical area and scheduling jobs via tablet or mobile
  • Participation in company bonus schemes based on performance
  • Maintaining a good work-life balance with flexible working options

Candidate requirements:

  • Fully qualified Electrician with NVQ 3 or equivalent (e.g., 2365, parts 1 & 2), and 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations
  • 2391 or equivalent testing certification
  • Full UK driving license (max 6 points)
  • Experience in PPM maintenance
  • IT literate; able to use Smartphone/Tablet for communication and reporting
  • Ability to work at heights using steps/ladders
  • Commercial testing experience
  • Smart, professional, with good customer-facing skills
