Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION: Testing & Analytical Manager – Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops, and manufactures cutting-edge glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System. At our Centre of Excellence in Witney, we develop and produce test strips and biosensors that support the day-to-day management of diabetes for patients and healthcare professionals worldwide. This is a leadership role within the Operations Technical team.

The Role

This is a leadership position responsible for managing the Testing and Analytical team, which plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and continuity of supply for our Blood Glucose Monitoring Strips and Libre Biosensors. You will oversee all testing activities and the in-house production of essential consumables used in sensor manufacturing, supporting both strategic and operational goals.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, R&D and Quality, and contribute to the introduction of new test methods and processes from R&D into manufacturing. You will ensure regulatory compliance with standards such as FDA and ISO, while driving improvements in product quality, yield and process efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) and maintain documentation as required.
  • Drive improvements in product quality, yield and process efficiency.
About You
  • Degree-qualified in a technical discipline with substantial experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry, particularly in manufacturing and testing environments.
  • Solid understanding of GMP, ISO and safety regulations.
  • Experience as a confident and capable leader with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and contribute to life-changing technologies.
