Job Description

The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.

Key Responsibilities :-

  • Carry out testing across a wide variety of electronic products, using automated and manual test equipment and processes for safety, capacities, compliance, and performance.
  • Carry out testing and fault-finding on customer returns/production units to board level using test equipment, specifications, and circuit diagrams.
  • Completes testing records and results individually as required for each product tested, and where necessary compiling reports on findings and testing data gathered. Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.
  • Carry out Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Vibration tests across wide variety of electronic products.
  • Program PCBs and devices using Programming Loading Documents.
  • Produce investigation reports and statements of work where necessary.
  • To be able to follow business, quality, and health & safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate a level of innovation and recommendations within the cell to assist continuous improvements.

Skills Required :-

  • Previous proven experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Problem-solving skills and knowledge of appropriate testing methods procedures and protocols.
  • Candidates must have experience working with different testing and measurement equipment and be competent in using them.
  • Analytical thinking and abilities, detail orientated.
  • Report writing and document analysis skills.
  • Ability to work with data and numbers, strong computer skills and Excel/Word literate.

Educational Requirements :-

  • Further education in Electrical or Electronic engineering (e.g. ONC, HNC, HND).
  • Have an Electronic based apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Have previous experience in an electronics testing role.
  • Have a good foundation in electronics circuit theory, either through an apprenticeship, industry or education.
  • Minimum requirements would be “A” level Mathematics and Physics.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
