Job summary

A well-established electronics manufacturer in Poole is seeking a skilled Test Technician to take ownership of product testing and fault-finding. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in Electrical & Electronics and hands-on experience. This role offers a stable, long-term opportunity with a profit-related bonus and 20 days of holiday, rising to 23 after a year.

Job description

Test Technician | Poole | £44,000 DOE

Are you an electronics technician with hands-on experience in testing, diagnostics, and repair? Do you enjoy solving problems and working with a wide variety of bespoke audio and electronics products?

We’re working with a well-established electronics manufacturer based in Poole that has been designing and delivering high-quality audio and communications components for over 50 years. As they continue to grow, they’re now looking for a skilled Test Technician to join their production team and take ownership of product testing, fault-finding, and ongoing improvement across a wide product range.

As a Test Technician, you’ll benefit from:

  • Profit-related bonus (approx. £200/month)
  • 20 days holiday (rising to 23 after 1 year)
  • Stable, long-term role with development opportunities
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (No weekend working)

As a Test Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Testing and inspecting manufactured and purchased products to specification
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out component-level repairs including PCB rework
  • Supporting prototype builds and developing test systems and fixtures
  • Maintaining production test equipment and performing routine minor maintenance
  • Writing and updating test procedures, schedules, and calibration documentation

As a Test Technician, your experience will include:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Electrical & Electronics or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Strong understanding of electronic testing methods and ESD procedures
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and VB programming
  • Ideally, familiarity with IPC 620/610 standards and confident communication skills
