Job summary

Cubic Transportation Systems in the United Kingdom (Salfords) seeks a Test/Equipment Engineer to install, configure and commission test gear, maintaining environments and preparing areas for customer visits. You will work with Test and Engineering teams to identify equipment needs and ensure timely readiness.

The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent, experience in transport/AFC systems, strong reporting skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Experience in Test roles and transport systems.
• Ability to produce timely, quality paperwork and reports.
• Knowledge of networks; ability to understand new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission new equipment/systems in Test area.
• Liaise with Test and Engineering teams to identify equipment needs.
• Ensure equipment is available to meet project commitments.
• Prepare the test area for customer visits and witness tests.
• Maintain environments and troubleshoot faults to unit level.
• Interrogate error logs; coordinate patches with IT Infrastructure.
• Identify bugs and defects; coordinate with Repair Centre.
• Maintain configuration records and update management.
