The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Consultant Test Lead with strong experience in integration testing and Salesforce projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a major programme of work, liaising directly with key stakeholders while ensuring smooth collaboration between onshore and offshore testing teams.

As a Test Lead, you will take ownership of test governance, oversee the functional system and integration test phases, and ensure high-quality deliverables from our offshore team. You’ll be working closely with project managers, developers, and business analysts to drive best practices and testing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the test strategy, planning, and execution for a major integration and Salesforce implementation programme.
2. Act as the primary client contact, ensuring alignment between business goals, test deliverables, and project timelines.
3. Provide a governance layer for our offshore test team, ensuring test phases are executed effectively.
4. Oversee integration testing, ensuring that interfaces between systems (including APIs and middleware) function seamlessly.
5. Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and technical teams to define test scope, priorities, and risk mitigation strategies.
6. Ensure best practices for functional system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) support.
7. Implement and optimise test automation where applicable, using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, and JMeter.
8. Produce high-quality test documentation, including test strategies, test cases, defect reports, and governance artefacts.
9. Work across agile and waterfall methodologies, adapting processes as required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

1. 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong background in integration testing.
2. Previous experience as a Test Lead, managing testing activities across multiple test phases.
3. Strong knowledge of Salesforce testing (custom configurations, integrations, and data validation).
4. Experience leading offshore teams, ensuring quality governance and process adherence.
5. Excellent knowledge of API testing and integration testing methodologies.
6. Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress).
7. Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner.
8. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience liaising directly with clients and senior management.
9. ISTQB Foundation certification (ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent is a plus).

Desirable Skills & Experience:

1. Exposure to middleware and cloud-based integrations.
2. Experience in Higher Education or Legal domains.
3. Performance testing or test automation experience.
4. Experience working in multi-vendor environments.
