Job Description

Job title: Test and Facilities Engineering Manager

Location: Barrow

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise in the build, test and operation of SIM/STIM test rig capabilities.
  • Manage and lead the AVC Test Team, ensuring a safe operating environment.
  • Develop and oversee complex systems testing schedules across multiple facilities, capabilities, and locations.
  • Create, manage, and deliver test instructions, reports, procedures, and test evidence to meet AVC test and qualification plans.
  • Ensure facility and rig compliance with contractual requirements and that work complies with company, safety, environmental, contractual, and local standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Act as the site liaison with suppliers and AVC One regarding the AVC Test capabilities.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • BSc degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Extensive knowledge of SIM/STIM test processes and practices in complex software-intensive systems within the defence, maritime, or related industries.
  • Understanding of test environments, qualification evidence, and SHE standards.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • MSc in Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Knowledge of submarines domain.
  • Chartered Engineer status.

The AVC Systems Team:

You will be part of the AVC team responsible for designing, building, commissioning, and operating testing capabilities and facilities that verify the operation and performance of systems controlling submarine maneuverability. We offer relocation support for eligible roles.
