Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Test Equipment Design Support Engineer for a contract role in Bolton. The successful candidate will liaise between design and manufacturing, supporting advanced missile programmes and test equipment development.

The role requires experience in electronics design/test, BS EN standards, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Occasional remote work and potential contract extension are on offer.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in designing digital and analogue electronics, RF & antennas, and test systems.
• Proficiency in schematic and PCB design per BS EN standards.
• Strong communication and ability to write engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Interface between design and manufacturing teams to support production.
• Work with other engineers to provide knowledge and support for missile programmes.
• Support launcher assemblies and shape test equipment design.

Job description

Our client, a leading player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Test Equipment Design Support Engineer to join their team in Bolton on a contract basis. This role is a unique opportunity for skilled Electronic Design Engineers to contribute significantly to production activities within state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the interface between design teams and manufacturing teams
• Work alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support
• Focus on advanced module missile programmes and subsystems
• Support launcher assemblies as required
• Help shape the design of products and test equipment
• Deliver support to customers, ensuring their needs are met
• Provide scope for personal growth and development in electronics

Job Requirements:

• Experience in BAE-Electronics Design Engineering and BAE-Test Engineering
• Proficiency in Electronics Design, Electronics Test, and Electronics Engineering
• Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience
• Proven experience in designing digital and analogue electronics, power electronics, RF & antenna, interconnects, safety electronics, and test systems
• Proficiency in schematic design, PCB design, and adherence to BS EN standards
• Excellent verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
• Ability to write clear and concise engineering documentation
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Capability to work autonomously and manage discreet work packages
• Investigative skills to find root causes of design issues and propose corrective actions
