Job description

Are you ready to ignite your career and make a real impact in creating a safer world? Join Tait's innovative Engineering Team as a Test Engineer – Mechanical, where your expertise will contribute to the future of critical communications.

Sitting in the heart of our mechanical test laboratory, you'll be instrumental in supporting electro-mechanical product development and manufacturing, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Th e duties of the role will include:

  • Test preparation and execution;
  • Failure identification, analysis, and correction; and
  • Product evaluation and input into design.

To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline and at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.

As well as:

  • Experience in specification, planning and execution of mechanical test programs within a product development project environment.
  • Experience in developing testing tools and working with testing processes and test standards.
  • Experience with plastic and rubber mouldings, die castings, extrusions, and sheet-metal, DFM, and 3D design tools, particularly Creo would be an advantage.
  • Practical knowledge of Mechanical design principles and processes.
  • Demonstrated skill and proactive interest in learning about new technologies and tools.
