Job summary

Syntech Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a well‑established electronics manufacturer in Dalgety Bay to recruit an experienced Test Engineer. You will design, develop and support production test solutions across a range of electronic products, combining hands-on fault finding with test development and NPI.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as a Test Engineer in electronics manufacturing/EMS.
• Strong understanding of functional testing and PCB A fault diagnosis.
• Experience developing automated production test solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement functional test strategies for PCBA and box-build assemblies.
• Design and develop custom test fixtures, hardware and software for production testing.
• Create and maintain automated test programs using LabVIEW and Takaya Flying Probe systems.
• Write and optimise code for automated test equipment including Flying Probe and ICT systems.
• Carry out component-level diagnosis and fault finding on PCBAs and functional assemblies.
• Support DFT activities, working with customers to optimise manufacture and testing.
• Support NPI, establishing robust production test processes for new products.
• Develop and maintain functional test procedures and documentation.
• Analyse production yield data to identify trends, reduce test times and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Investigate day-to-day production issues, providing rapid technical support and corrective actions.
• Raise and manage NCRs where required.
• Support customer-specific testing requirements and FAT.
• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.
