Job summary

Hamiltonian Dynamics, a defence and cyber security software company, seeks a Test Engineer to ensure quality, reliability and security of platforms. You will design and execute tests, build automation suites, and work with engineers to improve testability throughout the lifecycle.

The role welcomes diverse backgrounds; candidates with strong testing fundamentals and a pragmatic mindset are encouraged. Travel to customer sites in Manchester is expected, with a salary band reflecting experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in one or more of the following, with a willingness to learn.
• Programming or scripting in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Testing web apps built with Angular, React, or Vue.
• Automated testing tools such as Robot Framework, Cypress, or Cucumber.
• Experience creating or extending test frameworks.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Exposure to MERN, Elasticsearch, or Neo4J.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated tests across complex systems.
• Build and maintain test frameworks and automation suites.
• Carry out exploratory testing to identify risk and edge cases.
• Work closely with engineers to improve testability and quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and tooling.
