This role is 100% onsite in our Bohemia, NY office.

This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a department of state or commercial license.

The salary range for this role is $80,000-$100,000.

Job Description - Test Engineer

This person will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, upgrading and troubleshooting production test equipment ranging from small manual fixtures up to large automated test stands. This equipment is used to test a myriad of products including small components up to large LRUs. This role reports into the Sustaining Test Engineering Manager and falls under the Operations organizational chart.

Responsibilities / Experience Required:

  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVMs and AC/DC power supplies
  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics
  • Capable of drawing schematics in Cadence OrCAD
  • Report and respond to test equipment failures in a timely matter
  • Experience maintaining test documentation / procedures
  • Experience installing / updating test hardware and software
  • Experience with CAN, I2C, GPIB, RS485 and RS232 communications
  • Experience reading and writing test code using Visual basic, C++ and C#
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access
  • Able to perform all duties listed above with minimal supervision or technical guidance
  • Must be self-motivated, conscientious, reliable and responsible

Educational Requirements:

  • A minimum 2 year degree in Engineering Technology with an Electronics focus
    • 4-yr degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering is preferred
  • At least 2 years of related work experience that includes the following:
    • fabricating prototype circuits from schematics
    • testing and troubleshooting complex test stations
    • basic AC, DC and semiconductor circuit theory
    • utilizing lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM and AC/DC power supplies
