Working within the engineering team, you will get to know the clients existing automated and manual testing, help bring it together and contribute to verification strategy. You will be hands‑on in writing and running tests, extending the test harness and verifying releases, and over time take on more responsibility for what they verify at each level, how it traces to requirements and risk, and what "ready to release" means for a product on the market under design controls.
The client is looking for a collaborative Test Engineer to take on testing of their 3D X‑ray imaging systems, from software builds to the complete system, and to help shape how verification works across their medical and industrial products. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys testing hardware and software together, wants to understand what verification in a regulated industry demand, and is keen to grow into a broader role. You will help raise the standard of testing across the engineering team.
Main responsibilities
- Contribute to the test strategy for the 3D X‑ray imaging products, covering integration, software and system levels, from continuous testing throughout development to formal testing during verification and validation, and grow into owning it over time
- Maintain and extend the existing test automation, and help bring it together into a coherent framework
- Design and run software and system‑level verification, including hardware and firmware integration
- Carry out regression testing and release verification for a product on the market under design controls, in accordance with applicable standards including IEC 62304 and ISO 14971
- Work with the Quality team to maintain traceability from verification to requirements and risk management, and to document test evidence to the standard required for audits and regulatory submissions
- Help ensure the shared platform is tested once and each vertical, including medical, veterinary and non‑destructive testing, gets the appropriate level of rigor
- Help build and extend the test harness, test rigs and CI integration
- Use AI tools effectively to accelerate test automation, ensuring the results meet the standard required for regulated test evidence
- Support developers in writing good tests and help raise the standard of testing across the team
