Government Recruitment Service is seeking a diligent Test Engineer in Nottingham to drive effective testing across DVSA digital services within an Agile delivery setting. You will design, execute and report on tests to support high-quality outcomes for major projects.

In this role you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, focus on test design and quality assurance, and contribute to continuous improvements in testing practices and standards.

Job description

The central responsibility of this role is to deliver effective and reliable testing across DVSA digital services, supporting the delivery of high-quality, user-focused outcomes within Agile teams.

Working within a delivery-focused Agile environment, and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the design and implementation of testing processes for a range of DVSA digital services. You will be responsible for delivering structured, cost-effective test activities to support the successful delivery of major initiatives.

You will apply established testing methodologies, primarily testing techniques, to ensure services meet defined business needs and operate in accordance with government and industry quality standards. You will work closely with development teams to identify and capture test cases, support test environment readiness, and design and execute test plans across DVSA digital projects and products.

You will share knowledge with colleagues and support continuous improvement of testing practices within your team. While collaborating with others who may develop automated solutions, this role focuses on test design, execution and quality assurance rather than software development or coding.

You will help ensure that DVSA-developed digital services function as intended, meet user and business requirements, and provide confidence in delivery decisions through clear reporting of test outcomes and risks.
