Job summary

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency in Leeds is seeking a Testing Specialist to deliver effective and reliable testing across DVSA digital services, supporting agile teams to produce high-quality, user-focused outcomes.

You will work in a delivery-focused environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement testing processes, execute functional, integration, system and revalidation tests, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, integration, system and revalidation testing activities, ensuring testing remains relevant to business needs and product risk.
• Work effectively within fast-paced digital delivery environments, maintaining focus on quality, risk and user outcomes.
• Support testing by leveraging testing tools to execute test scenarios, review results, and gain insights, collaborating with colleagues responsible for building the frameworks.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within team-level testing practices and contribute to corporate testing standards and best practice guidance.

Job description

Location: Bristol, Swansea, Leeds, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham (Chadderton), Birmingham (Garretts Green) or Uxbridge.

Salary: £37,090 – A Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%. Candidates based in Yeading will receive the London Weighting allowance of £4,000.

Contract Type: Permanent – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time.

The central responsibility of this role is to deliver effective and reliable testing across DVSA digital services, supporting the delivery of high-quality, user-focused outcomes within Agile teams.

Working within a delivery-focused Agile environment, and in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the design and implementation of testing processes for a range of DVSA digital services.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Execute functional, integration, system and revalidation testing activities, ensuring testing remains relevant to business needs and product risk.
• Work effectively within fast-paced digital delivery environments, maintaining focus on quality, risk and user outcomes.
• Support testing by leveraging testing tools to execute test scenarios, review results, and gain insights, collaborating with colleagues responsible for building the frameworks.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within team-level testing practices and contribute to corporate testing standards and best practice guidance.
