Job summary

Mastek is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer in Leeds to design, develop and execute automated tests for APIs and web apps using Cypress. You will work in a fast-paced agile environment, ensuring high quality, reliable software delivery and fast feedback through CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 3–6 years of experience in QA automation, strong API testing skills, and a collaborative mindset to drive quality across projects in a hybrid Leeds office setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Quality Engineering - API Automation Testing using Cypress API Framework (Technical).
• Hands-on experience with test automation in modern programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP methods, request/response structures, and API validation techniques.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or similar) for automated test execution.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Experience working in agile development environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Implement robust test data management and test environment setup for API and UI automation.

• Ensure test coverage for regression, integration, and system testing across services.

Job Summary
