  • Setting up instrumentation and data‑gathering systems.
  • Conducting a range of physical and mechanical tests.
  • Collecting, analysing, and formatting test data.
  • Producing accurate, clear, and concise test reports for clients.
  • Supporting wider team activities such as test rig design and identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and workflow.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 3 qualification (A‑Level / BTEC / HNC or equivalent) in Mechanical, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous work experience or university project work related to Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Desirable:
  • Degree in a relevant Engineering or Science subject.
  • Experience with or exposure to construction industry products and components.
  • Basic CAD competency (2D and 3D).

  • A basic understanding (or willingness to learn) of laboratory standards and procedures.
  • A desire to learn, develop skills, and build a long‑term career in Civil Engineering.

  • Strong written communication skills and confidence producing detailed technical reports.
  • Clear verbal communication and the ability to work with clients at all levels.
  • A methodical and detail-focused approach to work with a willingness to challenge results and question potential errors.
