Job summary

Kohler Mira is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Current Product Development (CPD) team in planning, designing and executing tests for fielded products. You will work with Engineering, Quality and Compliance to investigate issues, validate solutions and ensure changes meet performance and safety standards.

You will independently deliver testing activities, create clear evidence for decisions and help drive continuous product improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in engineering testing, verification and validation in product development, manufacturing or quality environments.
• Ability to translate requirements and risks into test methods and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with defect investigation and root-cause analysis.

Job description

We are looking for a Test Engineer who will support the Current Product Development (CPD) team by planning, designing and carrying out testing for products already in the field. The role will provide clear, reliable evidence to support continuous development, product improvement, compliance and product safety decisions. The successful individual will be practical, analytical and methodical, with the ability to translate requirements, risks and product issues into effective test plans. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Compliance, Production and other technical specialists to investigate concerns, validate solutions and confirm that changes meet the required performance and quality expectations. About the Role This role is accountable for independently delivering testing activities that support CPD tasks, projects and initiatives. Reporting directly to the Senior Programme Manager, you will ensure testing is appropriately planned, executed, documented and communicated, with clear conclusions and recommendations. The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Design, build, maintain and execute tests aligned to product requirements, user needs, identified risks and agreed acceptance criteria.
• Plan and deliver verification and validation activities for in-field product improvements, engineering changes, compliance updates and safety-related investigations.
• Develop practical test approaches and support feasibility, investigation and validation work for proposed technical solutions.
• Use test evidence and structured root cause analysis to diagnose defects, understand failure modes and support robust corrective actions.
• Assess testing dependencies, defects and risks; communicate impacts clearly and contribute to mitigation and contingency plans.
• Produce accurate test plans, records, reports and conclusions that provide clear evidence for technical and quality decisions.
• Prioritise and sequence testing activity to meet CPD and programme commitments, escalating risks or constraints when required.
• Identify and implement improvements to test methods, coverage, processes, systems and tooling to improve efficiency and quality.
• Use test equipment, systems and data effectively, maintaining appropriate control, traceability and safe working practices.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Compliance, Production and other stakeholders, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Apply learning from testing and in-field performance to support continuous product improvement and help prevent recurrence of known issues.

• Take ownership of agreed test scope and quality outputs, working independently across the majority of situations and advising others where appropriate.

  Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Established experience in engineering testing, verification and validation within a product development, manufacturing or quality environment.
• Ability to interpret requirements and risks and convert them into clear test methods, acceptance criteria and evaluation plans.
• Practical experience of defect investigation, root cause analysis and evidence-based problem solving.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver agreed testing to schedule.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present test evidence, risks and recommendations.
• Competence in the use of relevant test equipment, data systems and standard Microsoft Office tools.
• A focused, persistent and collaborative approach, with a strong commitment to accountability, quality, compliance and product safety.

• Managerial experience is not required.
